Well, after having the car since july last year, the brakes have finally started to squeal!:(

Now the car has done 9000 miles, so could it possibly be the brake pads coming towards the end of their life, or could it be the recall issue?

the only reason why I ask this is that my last GP brakes started squealling after only 2000-3000 miles and were sorted through recall!:D

Brake pad Recall?

The brake pad squealing issue was ironed-out fairly early-on with the GP, and all subsequent Grande's had the modified pads factory fitted. If yours are squealing it's likely down to a build-up of dust or a glaze on the surface from stop-start city driving.

Warranty will not cover a strip and clean/deglaze.

I wouldnt ignore any strange noise from the brakes, it could be serious. Get it jacked up, get the wheels off and have a gander, it could be that something is loose or a stone is trapped in there scratching the disk to sh**.

good piont sledge my gp has a small groove in the rear disc will be stripping it to see if its something stuck in when i get a chance

Ohhhh the dreaded brake squeal - gets on my t!ts! I have to take mine, but pay as it is just outside the warranty. Fortunately, the dampening kit isn't an expensive job! Least that'll be one noise I'm rid of :D
