Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them and which they would reccomed?
Have been looking at DTUK, DTE Systems and Chipexpress, and all seem to offer similar gains, though Chipexpress can be adjusted so currently favouring that one.
I know lots of people on here are going to say get a re-map, but I want something that is going to be easy to remove and un-traceable if any warrenty work needs doing.
Also would you reccomend I have the car serviced before fitting a tuning box, its due very soon anyway?

TUNIT BOX THE MOST EXPENSIVE AND ALSO THE BEST WITH A FULL WARRENTY.175BHP/265 ILBS OF TORQUE GAURENTEED.HAD IT ON MY GP/M-JET FOR 18 MONTHS THEN SOLD IT ON FOR £140 CANT DO THAT WITH A REMAP:p

 Last bit quite right, first bit, how would you know what the power output and torque differences are from standard unless you pay for 2 rolling road sessions? Personally I find the fact my re-map is bespoke to the characteristics of my personal car very agreeable, whereas a tuning box just gives a generic map, with risk of excessive smoke through overfuelling.

I know the tuning boxes are not as good as a remap and rolling road session, but does anyone know what happens when you take a remapped car in for a service?

This is where a box seems like a better idea, purely cuz i know its not going to get wiped!

has anyone ever had there ECU set back to factory settings? or is it just a risk you have to live with if you want a proper job done?

you boast on your postings of all the bhp and torque you have in your gp,far too much in my opinion for a m-jet with somewhat dubious handling to be honest it handles like a tug boat.the tunit box can be bespoke aswell via a laptop via a engineer:p

Ive actually driven a tug boat belive it or not and it does not handle like my GPS, not at all really:rolleyes:.

Yes I have a red dot map and im V happy with it.

Equally my friend had a DTUK green box in his astra and was very happy with that.

Im happy, end of.(y)

how the hell can you say that the sporting m-jet handles like a tugboat? it doesn't matter if its a 1.4 16v sporting, t-jet or m-jet, its still got the same chassis and lowered (20mm) to the same height so i doubt it'll handle anything like a tugboat!;)

maybe you should ask my colleagues at fiat-scotland.com, if my sporting handles like a tugboat after the run up to falls of shin in january!!;)

the words left and standing on corners will be applied if asked!!

Most good places will put it back on for free or a small amount.

Thought I would update this as I decided to go for a DTUK CRD2 tuning box in the end and its great. Car is much more responsive and there is no extra smoke as long as you keep the box on a sensible power level. The guy who runs DTUK couldnt have been more helpful and the level of service was excellent. I would highly reccomend these boxes to anyone and ****** ** ***** said if anyone from the forum wants one, if they type FIAT into the discount box on his website there will be about £** off!

1) I dont boast.
2) I dont give a flying feck what you think or what your opinion is, Peters opinion at Red Dot was far more educated and knowledgeable.
3) My re-map is more... far more, than a lap-top job as anyone who has been to Red Dot or even knows something about what they are talking about would tell you.

Facts are my MJet outputs more than your "car". End of.

Close the door on your way out...:nerner:

your avatar displays you as a rather oldish looking man and the camera never lies....50 ish????:p and driving a remapped gp sporting aint that a highlight of your life at your age.you can have all the torque you want/bhp....but your still in denial that you own a young mans car that handles so badly when it comes to a bend or a corner as for my car....i am under no illusions what it is...it was hot hatch of the year with auto express/top gear magazine enough said old man
