hi! i am from greece and i have a gp-tjet which i wish to convert it into abarth...i 've searched into eper, in order to find the differences and i noticed that the two models only have different turbos ( and different ecu-maps as a result)....is this true??? i think to buy the turbo from gp-abarth and do a ecu-remap.....what's your opinion??

Its not that simple yet. The standard Tjet ECU hasnt been cracked with an Abarth turbo. You can remap the standard one and get 150ish out of it and more torque than an abarth though. A more freeflowing exhaust will make a big difference aswell

Evening all. Me and my brother will be remapping our t-jets soon along with the GSR induction kit and cannot wait! I will also be replacing the standard exhaust and will be putting on a cat back system and hopefully a de-cat or a sports one. Hopeully all that should give the punto more than enough power :D

Yea probably. So i guess after doing all the above mentioned, a bigger turbo would be on the cards i.e the abarth turbo?

the fact that is not cracked yet is not a problem....t-jet , gp-abarth ,500 abarth, bravo ,mito have the same ecu but different maps....these ecu's have 4 maybe 5 memories and you can choose which one will the car use...so uploading the abarth map into t-jet ecu into a different memory( which is already true)...you have the desirable result...so there is no need to hack t-jet's map with abarth's....we can have both of these into ecu....and the second one fully functional..

Then why arent tuners doing this already? and why would you want the normal abarth map when you can map it for more power? Im sure the ECU from the abarth is different ive seen the info somewhere which says so.

i dont want the standard abarth map...this will fit into ecu as a base...remap will be done in this map with a result of 182hp...the ecu is exactly the same...... bocsh ECU ME7.9.10

true....
bocsh motronic me7.9.10

with the abarth turbo you can easily have 180hp and 30kg of torque

hi mate. imyself few weeks back i convereted my starjet to something like abarth. engine form bravo, gearbox, catalyst, sport button, ecu and yes a second key gor the immobilizer. tricky job but all is well know. i don't see why toy can't do it. have you consider tuning your engine a bit higher? i know people in greece that say they have achieved 165-170 hp with the t-jet.don't know if it is true though!

With an exhaust and free flowing exhaust clawliger got 160bhp and 200lb ft of torque out of his Tjet.
exactly my point mate. if you can achieve 160 why convert it to abarth? unless if you want to squeeze the most out of it. any way he might want to wait for the multiair system so he can apply this aswell.

if you switch to the abarth turbo you can get mor power as the abarth turbo is different tot he 120.
so there is no need to be the abarth turbo.he could just use any good big after market one or is this a bad idea?

You could but it just complicates stuff even more. You need new manifold/adapter plates made up to the new turbo can be used. Might need standalone management who knows.

Personally i would put the abarth turbo on it, FMIC, exhaust inc decat then map it and you should be pretty close to 200bhp.
