Just got back from signing on the dotted line for a Grande Punto Abarth, I'm upgrading from a T-Jet, only had it for 10 months (yikes!), but after a quick spin in the demonstrator there was simply no contest.

It's the 155 bhp version, and is in 1949 white and has these options :

  • Climate Control
  • Leather Interior
  • Alternative 17 Inch Alloy Wheels
  • Stripes & Mirrors

It's a pre-reg, but with no miles, therefore I got it for the princely sum of £13,990 which I think is OK.

I'm getting it from Research in Nuneaton, they seem like a prettty clued up and friendly bunch of guys.

Some pics below. In the excitement, I took no camera with me so these are the matchbox-sized pics from the dealer. Will post better ones in time.

Not sure about the SS kit yet, but have time to think about it.

Collecting her next Saturday, all being well.(y)

Sorry about the crappy pics!:D

welcome mate!!!! you deffinatly got the right colour ;) the wheels are nice but i prefer the standard ones. still though fantastic car!

i also did the same as you but i go rid of my mjet for the abarth :p so far so good though!!! =D

Very Nice, would love one.I had the GPS M-jet but changed to the smaller 500,wish could of afforded the abarth.
Got to agree about the wheels though, prefer the standards and don't understand why they cost £500. Ask to swap wheels with one of their other cars and save te cash!!

Thanks for all the positive comments!

I believe the alternative wheels have proved unpopular and thus the price reduced to £150, so, taking that into account, adding up all the options :

Climate Control - £250
Leather Interior - £850
Alternative 17 Inch Alloy Wheels - £150
Stripes & Mirrors (only available on White cars) - £100

Assuming the 'base' car price is normally £13500, that would take the car to roughly £14850. (a little more needs to be chopped off 'cause of the change in VAT rate)
I've actually paid £13990, yes the car has been pre-registered (don't care) but hasn't turned a wheel - if you'll pardon the pun - and I kind of like them :) - might even give my car a bit more exclusivity - for a while - maybe :D:D:D

Happy days (y)

Nice one Dave, post an update once you take delivery and given it a good blasting (testing I mean!) and tell us what performance/mpg etc you are getting?

Cheer,

Chuck

my mpg is going from 28 - 35 mpg

the 35 mpg was on the motorway going 75 - 80 mph for 80 miles to chester and then the same back... it does drink a bit!!!! (thats with sports button on) - bare in mind the m62 is all up and down hills so take that into account. there are some people getting 42mpg out of there abarths though!!! im guessing this is doing 60 -65 on motorways?

as for performance its fantastic. i drove the car for the first time witht he sports button off the other day.... its so suprising how different it is with it on!!! the throttle respose is a LOT quicker and the steering feels a LOT better.

thats my little reveiw :) im pritty sure that dave will find exactly the same!

Can't grumble at £150 for the alternative wheels then. £500 was steep. Just wish there was an abarth dealer near me in Preston. Its probably York or Stoke which is a good hour and half away. Good luck with the new car.
What trade in did you get for the t-jet if you don't mind me asking?
