Hi, Driving Home tonight my warning light came on, and with a message to say check engine. the engine is running fine, any ideas ? Please.

Just check engine?....
No other warning lights?

Only the warning light for check engine, orange symbol, no other warning lights.

The ECU, might have found something within a split second, keep an eye on it, it may be nothing, but check the usual things like oil and levels on the coolant etc etc

Oil and coolant levels are fine, Brake fluid fine. problem is still the same, showing check engine.

Dealer job, mine has done it twice, needed coil packs (twice):bang:
still runs a bit intermittent though, gonna try a new dealer after the New Year

could be one of many things only a hook up to the computer will reveal all

Have not driven my car since Friday Night, been to check on it this morning, and everything is ok, all warning lights go out, everything back to normal. is it wise to take it to dealer or leave it ?.

Still take it to the Dealer, mine went out...they said it might, but when they plug it in to the computer it will/should tell them what the fault was/is. The ECU records the fault for the Tech's to "fix"

Still take it to the dealer. It might have gone off now but when it flashed on it will of stored a code in the ECU which Fiat will be able to look at with there examiner. This means they will either be able to delete the code if there is nothing wrong and the car just had a bit of a moment or if the code does mean something they will be able to look into it

I have booked in at the dealers on Tuesday.

Try & supply as much info as possible as this will fasten diagnostics & get your car back quicker (and more accurate diagnosis) or ask to speak to the DET (dealer expert technician)

Took car to dealer this morning (Tuesday 16th) needs a new RPM sensor, should be completed by the end of the day,
