Hi, i have a 06 grande punto and i had the air con on to desteam the windows whilst answering my phone (via the handsfree) i turned it off and since then theres been nothing. No heat, no sound, no clue! is this a blown fuse or a standard fault i dont get paid for two weeks and i have zero money please someone tell me this isnt goin to be expensive!!!!!

ok its a 1.2 ltr, its in its 3rd year so apparently not alot is covered, its the first time the air con has broke, ive located the fuses but i dont know which ones the air con and when my brother had a look he couldnt see which fuse was which and my dad said if he took the wrong one out it could damage the car. i dont know where the plug is that your talking about. the blower is not working at all. the heater for the back window works fine but i turn the wheel for the heat to come out and theres nothing from the heat, speed or vent!

Sounds like the blower motor has gone rather than the air con system.

The plug T mentions is the electrical connector on the back of the switch. not sure how the faceplate detaches though, can any of the techs help?

See if you can locate the blower motor fuse in the handbook & check it(y)

which fuses have you found as there are 2 fuse boxes on the GP?

The plug i think T is referring to is the plug on the fan motor located under the glovebox you don't need to take any trim off you can get to it fine as it is.... By the fact your heated rear screen is working that rules the plug out on the back of the center console (i hope im right T? )

its to the right of the motor there is a brown and orange wire running to it see red arrow

if that doesn't work post back with the answers to these:

when you turn the blowers "on" (yes i know its not blowing) does the little light come on on the recirculate air button when you press it and can you hear the flap working?)

does the air con light come on when you press it?

can you hear/feel/see (via rev counter) the engine workload change when you switch on the air con with the blower set to on?

just trying to help T- narrow down your fault....

And testing fuses is easy with the right tool :p

a 12v tester like this

clip the croc clip onto the negative pole of the battery (if in the engine bay) or a clean bit of metal eg door hinge bolt

next use the probe to test the fuses...

each fuse has 2 holes in the top one either side of the fuse element so touch each side like this one

the tool should light up when you touch both sides if it only lights on one side there is your dead fuse...

ive found the fuses in the glove box on the passenger side. the air con light does come on but theres no other sign of life from anywhere when i turn the blower on. before i go look what does the fan motor look like is there a distinguishing feature you may have guessed im slightly clueless?

look up under the dash from passenger side (bit where passengers stick their smelly feet) and you will see a black big (7" diameter) round section (fan sits inside this) and you will see 2 wires (thick wires) going into it you cant miss it.....but if you do take a pic & we'll point it out;)

(if its fan motor it IS covered by 3rd year)

Do you post on FF from your car with your toolbox and a camera next to you:devil:(y)

its not far away if i could shift the dining table and get it through the french windows it would be next to me ;)

every time i take the car to bits i take pictures of what ever i have in bits sometimes for reference as to how things were run/fastened then upload them as i see fit :D the pic of the fan was from when i fitted the pollen filter and the other when i replaced the 20A fuse for the fag lighter....
