Dashboard Interior repair or replace??

Hello there,

I have a 57 plate 1.2 Grande punto Active, the other day i noticed that there was still some plastic around where the cd player unit is, so i whipped out a knife and tried to cut it away, however my partner took a corner and i slipped and sliced a 6 inch slice along the dashboard trim and it lucks pretty ugly.

Can anyone suggest how i might have this fixed or replaced? without breaking the bank?

Thanks in advance,

Samantha

Thanks for ur reply,

But this slice is in the grey smooth foam filled fabric part of the Dash, know which bit i mean??

It looks impossible to glue back together so i'm thinking i might have to replace the whole lot!!

Re: Dashboard Interior repair or replace??

I can be repaired & the results are normally very effective.

As a short term measure cant you stick a air freshner or something over it to stop it annoying you?

OCZedd was only having a bit of banter & i'm sure it wasn't ment to offend...were a friendly bunch here really.

Maybe you could source one at a scrapyard? But then there is the problem of fitting it....

Re: Dashboard Interior repair or replace??

is it the soft bit of rubber type material around the glove box sam?

i have marked mine but i have just lived with it

Then again just blame your Sig Other for driving like a loon when you was trying to do a surgical operation on you beloved Punto

Im sure T14086 wil be able to advise if the bit of rubber is a separate item to the rest of the dash but looking at it it'll be a pain to replace

now being a Woman (no offence intended) can you get a bottle of nail varnish the same colour to blend it in? thin layers and slowly build it up?? (just an idea )

I wonder if this bit of plastic is a common thing cause i have it on mine, clear plastic, forgot all about it tbh... think i'll chop it of when car is stationery though.

You just know it's going to bug the life out of me now

Hope you manage to get it sorted sam

Neil
