(G) Worlds "hottest" punto !??!

I guess that is the top of the line punto?

Now please DO NOT GET ME WRONG: That is a great car and i would LOVE to have one!!

BUT........

It seems to me that for the worlds "hottest" punto its a bit "all show no go"

I mean it looks outrageous (the air intakes for example) but its performance isnt that great!?!

Why didnt they do it properly and stick a 2litre turbo tuned to the hills and maybe a 4x4system to take the power.

its sad because when i first saw it i though it was going to be monster quick.

lol, that picture is soooo old, the abarth doesn't even look like that. Search the forum m8 you will find loads of posts on the abarth, alot of people on here have been researching it for well over a year now.

They do. it's 270bhp. Ain't cheap though. Very exclusive however.

if im correct that is the abarth with the essesse kit fitted. and that is the way i think the abarth should be to start with but never mind.
and i would too love to see the rally car transformed into a road going 270hp 4 wheel drive beast but i dont think they will
theres the link to the youtube video showing the punto super 2000. its a very fast looking car and i hope they produce a road going version someday.

1, stick a 2.0 petrol in a car the size of the punto = front end heavy = understeer.

2, 4x4 system = lots of extra weight = handling of the car going from being nimble and very chuckable to heavy and sluggish.

3, Manufacturers will now focus on building smaller high powered engines as that is where the market is going. With car tax increasing so much and petrol increasing so much fewer and fewer people are wanting small cars with big capacity engines.

4, The cost of putting a 2.0 and 4wd in a punto would be stupid and unecomical for fiat. It would most certainly put it upwards of 20k and then you are into Golf territory when fiat are meant to be a budget brand with abarth just sitting above that. It would also mean that Alfa would then have to step there game up even more to make a car that is superior to the abarth which will never happen.

5, With the potential to get 260+ bhp out the 1.4 Tjet then i hardly think that is under powered.

6, Go and drive an Abarth for yourself and then tell me they arent quick.

Your not correct. It was just a concept car really to get people talking about the Abarth brand again.

Very unlikely that they will EVER be worth less than 50-60,000 euros (£40-50K), because of their rarity and motorsport potential.
