I understand what you are saying but as you said its my car enjoy So if that means putting spacers or what ever on then so be it. I cant live worrying about what is going to happen to it in a few years or even tomorrow. If they go when i have it then fair enough, if they dont go come the last service it has under my ownership i shall get the garage to check it over and see what condition there in

Does the possibility you may be voiding your insurance bother you?

Re: just spacered my wheels what do you think?

Why will it void my insurance if they are declared.

So why all the fuss over mine and Ffoxys comments then? You are defending your actions before you have even done anything

Re: just spacered my wheels what do you think?

I wasnt meaning to make a fuss i just worded what i wanted to say badly I was just trying to get across that if the lad that has spaced his wheels comes back in a few months or a year what ever moaning that fiats are crap because he has had a load of suspension failure then you can say i told you so to him because of your post on all the extra stress spacing has put on the parts

As i said in my previous post i am aware that modding my car has the potential to shorten the lifespan of certain parts of the car and if these parts broke down to me modding the car then im not gonna slate fiat for building crap cars. (well maybe a bit lol)

Re: just spacered my wheels what do you think?

well unfortunately i was a cheapskate and bought a universal set which unlike hubcentric sets are not balanced which caused my car to feel like it was driving on flat tyres at about 70mph but if i went quicker or slower i felt nothing. but anyway theyre off now and im gonna send them back because it didnt feel safe to drive like that. but they did actually make a difference to handling. allthough im allready runnin eiback sportline springs the car did feel more solid round the bends and i loved seeing my wheels flush in my arches when i looked in my wing mirror but if anyone else wants to do this DO NOT buy universal spacers only ever buy hubcentric expensive ones. i paid £70 for the spacers and extended wheel bolts which saved me 130 as opposed to eibach hubcentric ones but was not worth saving the money at all!
i think ill leave wheels inside my arches but cut a few mm off my springs to hide my tyres a bit .
thanks anyway for your help and opinions guys!

Re: just spacered my wheels what do you think?

You think it was bad running universal spacers and now you want to cut your springs? If you want to go lower by coilovers.

Re: just spacered my wheels what do you think?

yea my experience with spacers would have been fine if i had bought ones for my car instead of universal.
and yea i would love to buy coilovers but 600 quids quite alot really when my car handles quite nice at the moment. i dont wanna take much off just another 10-15mm which i wreckon wouldnt be too bad what do you think?
and do you know anywhere i could look at getting a set of mesh grills like the zunnsport set for slightly less money?

Re: just spacered my wheels what do you think?

Well they costed me 140 euros here in Greece. They are 15mm front and back.
I'm a little worried though now because of some posts i have read here about the cars safety with spacers on.
