Angel remap

I would just like to point out that Angel Tuning got a lot of negative feedback on this forum for not meeting the figures they state. This has since been proven wrong due to an inaccurate rolling road and the initial claims of 154BHP were infact wrong and it reached 174BHP (angel claim to give 170BHP). I had a remap on my old GP by angel tuning and was highly impressed and will be going to them again for another remap shortly.

Angel are also slated on this forum for causing turbo problems, but I think we can say that GSR/red dot racing has also had this affect recently with a customers car. I think angel do right in keeping their maps to 170BHP as 40BHP over is a safe amount to put on standard components. I think that putting 60BHP more on is asking for problems.

Anyway I just thought I'd sing my praise for angel tuning as I was really impressed with the transformation it made. It's strange that angel bashing can go on for a long time, but as soon as GSR/red dot racing are questioned the thread gets closed. And I fully expect to be slated for supporting angel tuning, but there are a lot of happy customers on this forum.

Re: Angel remap

so all the other angel tuned cars that came out on the same rolling road to be right bust also be wrong then an all the others from other company done on same rr must also have a lot more power.

post up your graph as nige dont know how to read them, he said mine had over 90bhp but the graph showed under 80.

this thread means nothing with our a graph.

oh and my slating angel tuning thread also got locked the locked one by tym will be open again when the section mods sees the report from fiat

I hope you showed all the honesty you did declaring your remap to Fiat like you did your insurance company?

Joking aside...was it done under warranty?

Oh... my Angel remapped GPS is running like a treat too...so far!!

Re: Angel remap

yes under warranty.

apparantly theres a bad batch of garrett turbo's. Seems my car was one of them. 20% of vw also have issues with the same turbo.

Excited to get the car back as i'm sick and tired of this 1.2 8v.

So it wasn't caused by the Red Dot remap? Or did the Red Dot remap put it under extra strain causing it to fail earlier than it would have otherwise done?

Any extra strain on a faulty component will cause it to fail quicker.

Re: Angel remap

yeah beast is right. The turbo was faulty and was going to go sooner or later. In this turn the mapping just made it fail quicker.

So exicted to get it back! !!! lol can't stop saying it. embarrasing to drive courtesy car tbh... feel sorry for ppl who have it.

They didn't notice the remap then? Did they overwrite your GSR map?

Why would they overwrite map by replacing a turbo?. Only reason they'd do that if they thought it was the ECU causing the problem.

Some techs are sneaky. Will gladly wipe a map just because they can.
