1st service cost for a 1.9 GP

Unhappy 1st service cost for a 1.9 GP
I was amazed at the bill following my 1st service and i know it's probably been done to death but nearly £300 for an 18000 service even though i've done 8000.

I was told this is fiats menu pricing. This seem wildly overpriced I used to get my servicing done independently for under £100 for an old style punto.

Dealers really do rip the p1ss at times. Why don't you get it done independantly like your old one?

Cost me £150 for a 7000 mile 1st non air-con service from Fiat dealer and they washed it.

It's labour prices that cost so much at main dealers. It's shocking, ought to cut out the middle man

My first service were £130, but thats because my car hasnt done many miles yet

Why would lower mileage mean it costs less?

Yeah low mileage one or high one (I think) for 10k or above.

1.9GP is a 'little' different from mk2 punto though

ye for under so many miles the first service is cheaper, as my gp has only done about 4500 miles, and its still running good

I paid £180 with the local main dealer for a 9200 mile diesel sporting.

I'd ask them what was done to justify that cost.

Can't imagine what extra would need doing with that mileage.
