Wobbling Wipers :(

Just got my PUNTO!!! i will post pictures tomorrow if the weathers nice

Thing i have noticed is that the wiperblade sometimes drags and wobbles when its on, this is very annoying once you notice it, has anyone else had this problem and know how to get rid of it?

Also i love the way the wiperblades change there speed to match yours its the little things like that what make all the difference

Same here - noticed it the day I got it brand new from the dealers, but didn't think it was that big a deal to bother going back with. It's like a juddering or vibration in the wiper - although it does only seem to affect the drivers side one.

Yeah exactly the same, i hope somthing can be done about it, it has realy started to bug me now.

Same here, can only put it down to being second hand the blades will not have been changed.

You can get them from halfrauds for £14 per side, or £7 per side on the net (shop4pars.co.uk)

if you have a staff discount card or trade card its much less

Before spending any cash and assuming yo have not already tried it

get some clear spirit vinegar and some kitchen roll and clean the glass and the wiper blades themselves
also a decent quality screen wash helps too

if the glass really is dirty you want some glass polish

rub it in really well then buff off once dry

Take care you don't wet yourself when you put it into reverse....

Lol yeah that reverse wiper did confuse me at first :P I had the gear in reverse and the wiper went insane haha wasnt expecting that

I can't belive how light the clutch is!!! i just love this car to death!! gear changing is so smooth and easy, and its very quiet!! when i pulled up at the petrol station my dad thought i stalled it I also love the light steering

i had this problem.
try rainx wipes or the bottle of rainx.
apply once a fortnight or more .
the faster you go the clearer your windscreen without using the wipers.
tends to stop wiper judder as well AS it coats the windscreen in a super smooth
coating.


also duxback can treat your screen so it lasts for a year or more ,

My drivers blade used to judder at the bottom until i changed them for ones from "shop4parts" (bit cheaper than dealer). It was coz they were worn and dragging across the screen not gliding as they should do

My car does this too,

It's only covered 10k miles and would have expected the wipers to last longer than this.

It's done this since i've had the car so would be surprised if it's worn wipers.

I agree, not bothered to get it checked as it doesn't annoy me enough.

In my case they were worn. BUT i think it is due to the length of the driver side blade and that it doesnt have a conventional arm to give it the extra ridgidity a normal blade has. both my neighbours (08 Corsa and 03 Laguna) have said their blades judder but only the long one.

this looks like quite a common fault, i did what Andy Monty said and it worked like a charm!

not so much a fault rather than a lack of maintenance by the past owner

I have been out with plenty of lasses in the past and the first thing i did when i got in their car was clean the windscreen inside and out FFS if your going to drive me to the Flicks you might as well be able to see where your going that way i have a chance of making it home alive.......


My sister is as bad borrowed her car while back... Driving home in the dark i could see f~~K all i ended up using my t-shirt to clean the windows they were that bad......


(did get 20 Questions of one lass's dad when i deliberately put up turned foot prints on the clean windscreen after i cleaned it for her, she didn't spot them but daddy did when it steamed up
