T-jet running a bit strange

I've got a few quick questions. Firstly is first gear pretty pants for every one or just me.Nothing happens for the first 2 or 3 seconds and then it finally kicks in a little.

Secondly, anyone know why in 2nd gear if you floor it, there seems to be less power than if you put your foot only half way down?

Finally, i've got a rattling sound somewhere towards the back of the drivers side. Not a clue what it is but only hear it on a bumpy surface.Anyone else had this?

Cheers

Re: T-jet running a bit strange

I can answer the last question, the rattle sounds like its the striker plate on the door. I had to take mine in to get it fixed under warranty it was rattling like crazy when going over bumpy surfaces.
If its still under warranty get it in and its a 10min job to sort out.

Cant answer the other questions

Have you owned a turbo car before?

You might want to check all the pipes from the airbox to the inlet manifold are not loose.

Re: T-jet running a bit strange

Also, the engine is reving very loudly and the noise is quite loud in the car, sounds like its coming through the air vents There is a normall reving noise whilst putting my foot down, but once i lift off there is a loud revving noise? is this again due to the turbo or do i have a problem?

cheers

My first post on forum so Hi to all, just got a T-jet last week so may be able to help on first two points, it does sound like you have a problem, when I pull off from 1st there is a very slight lag but no more than half a second if that, lag is a lot less than Turbo Diesels I have previously driven (not Fiat). Also there should be no problem with 2nd gear when I floor it it picks up straight away, you can really feel the surge of power, it would be worth taking it in to get a dealer to look at it>
