T-Jet Performance

Was looking on the autoexpress website on the group test section where they test the permorance and other things. It shows the T-Jet (8.7) is not much slower then the Fiesta St (8.3) to 60 but is quicker once you get going. Also quicker then the Swift Sport and Mini Cooper and the brakes are also very good. So once you have the Gsr induction and remap must really shift I know you can't get much more Bhp but can get alot of torque. Can you take it to 200 lb-ft at the fly?

I believe it is somewhere between 180-190 lbft

Re: T-Jet Performance

With the slightly bigger turbo from the 150 T-Jet we can get it to about 220lb ft on the flywheel. Currently we are at 163bhp with the 150 Turbo.

I bet that will give a few hot hatches a run for their money then.It pulls well with only 150lbft so with 220 it must be like driving a different car, a right beast

Re: T-Jet Performance

Another question but why does the T-Jet weigh so much more then the normal 1.4 Sporting and is that 220 lb-ft without mapping?

Because they have chosen the cheap route to get the safety up.

Without mapping the engine would die with the bigger turbo. It needs mapping. But the project is far from being over. Lots more of improvement has to be made.

That's a duff time for the ST, should be sub 8...Some of Autoexpress's test times are a joke.

The standard Festa ST would waste a standard T Jet...

Please bear with me. We haven't finished yet with it and will release all info when we are satisfied with the results.

Which isn't a big improvement considering that the standard car is between 138 and 140bhp.
