Right, not expecting many to like this new idea, but hey - I do :p

I was getting a bit bored of the Audi R8 lights, so I moved them to a more unique place, which gave birth to my new mod - a make do bonnet scoop - kinda.

There's always been a big gap between my bonnet and my bumper, so I thought I'd play with this...

Here's the result, opinions on it welcome

Tom

Well you've gone and done it this time. :p

Nah, I dunno what to think of it to be honest I am not a fan of adding extra lights but I think you get away with it. Your car still looks amazing! (y)

Maybe I need to see that being driven to tell.

well its erm, certainly a unique mod you got there tom lol
i dont really know what to think of it tbh, it would probs grow on me the more i saw it, but it certainly is unique (y)

Lmao, you're all feeling the same as me, I'm still undecided myself. I've got another small mod on the side of the car, will upload pics 2moz.

My next job is going to be the hardest, I'm fitting a fully intergrated, dash molded, carputer. Then I can run my front and rear cameras through the comp, gps, engine management, and... (details to be released soon :p - it's my big secret lol)

Oh wow that sounds like a sick project to undertake! Can't wait to see that and maybe help out (y)

You good with computers? or plastic molding? Any help would be good, we could build two :p
Yeah I know a thing or 2 about computers, building them is normally the easy part lol.

sorry to say not a big fan on the mod! but each to there own! :) is the "scoop" made just using the gap the led's create? if u get me.

p.s i dont suppose u fancy selling a single wheel to me for a spare? lol :chin:

Nothing secret about carputers  :p. Its easy only thing thats different to a desktop is form factor and Power Supply. Software is easy (use Road runner). Only thing that would be slightly difficuilt is engine stuff (not sure what you want but only basics would work tbh such as Rev's and temperatures maybe mostly due to the GP having the latest bleeding edge engine management that isn't fully compatible with ISO readers finding the right software will be a pain.

As for dash molding use high build filler / fiber glass finished with smooth micro filler smoothed down with wet and dry then painted black or silver or what ever colour you fancy.

Cheers Chris, I'm thinking of going down the mac route for my install - I just think it will be an easier install and give me more of the features I want.

Thanks for the comments guys.

@ T-jetfc - I'll happily sell you one, if you can find 3 others who also want one lol. I'll sell you the set for only a bit more than it would cost to buy one wheel from Fiat lol.

@ jk. - Didn't get that mate, sorry

Cheers,
Tom

I've done something like that, but with a little twist ;)

hmm not a fan of the under the bonnet thing, i did have an idea where you could put them, but i might try to be the first to do it! ahh sod it, my idea was to put lights like your behind the grille, not so you can actually see the lights but so you get a glow from behind there

Thats been done before (not on a GPS though). Around here there is a black unmarked Police 2.5 V6 Vectra with blue lights behind the grill makes it look chavy though.

Aint that illegal having red light on the front of your car... As i'm a massive fan of knight rider and has always wanted the red flashing light scrolling side by side. But didn't do it on my GP as I were told its against the law
