(G) Just got my brand new GP!

Hi all,

Been lurking for a while but decided to make my first post as I've just took delivery of my new Grande Punto (1.2 Dynamic 5dr in Chemical Grey) and I love it! Got it on Friday, and already racked up 320 miles - keep insisting I'll give it a rest but everytime I look out of the window I just wanna go out in it again!



Almost threw a wobbly when I got it home on Friday afternoon and realised there was a dirty great sticker mark on the drivers door which I hadn't noticed when I inspected it on collection, but a little WD40 managed to get rid of that quite easily.

Aside from that, been pretty smooth driving thus far - I even didn't mind when my girlfriend asked me to pick her up from Preston at 1am last night from Oldham!

Previously drove a 1.4 Rover 25, and although I've noticed a drop in performance, the quality of the car and driving experience more than makes up for it. Hopefully I'm going to feel the same way in a few months time...

(PS: That's my dad's 1.2 Active 3dr in the background!)

However i have to ask, i love the 1.2 and have one myself but why did you go from a 1.4 to a 1.2, surely you should've gone for the 1.4 sporting or 1.9 t-jet?

It all comes down to simple desperation! Turns out the Rover was on its last legs, and the 1.2 Dynamic was available immediately from pre-registered stock - had everything I required and more and moreover was in the colour I wanted, so that's what I went for.

Not saying I'm dissappointed in anyway, but I notice the difference! No doubt, I'll get used to it though, and as I said I have no complaints in any other department.
