Hi, Just been reading in the guides section - https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto-guides/127299-generic-mp3-input-active-hu.html.

I have the standard blaupunkt unit in my GP and been looking at ways of hooking up an mp3, (fm transmitter i have is rubbish tbh).

Was just wondering how many people have had success with this?

I at one point tried a cable a mate bought of ebay which I remember doing basically what is said in the guide and it didn't work. Although might have connected different pins?

Jost wondered if anyone else could give some more info on this??

Cheers in advance.

it works for me :D

what exactly do you want to know??

those are the 3 pins you want to connect to in my guide

Ok cool. Got myself a job for tomorrow then. :D Might be some messages of help coming your way :p.

Edit. should have said the cable i tried before, i'm sure was used to connect the 3 same pins. I plugged it all in and selected AUX on my radio for nothing to happen. I presume when you press AUX (i.e. CD button twice??) you get the sound from your mp3 player?

Very similar to the ones on ebay eg. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GOLD-BLAUPUNKT-CAR-AUX-IN-INPUT-STEREO-ADAPTER-FOR-IPOD_W0QQitemZ320210397088QQihZ011QQcategoryZ86532QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

After failing with my own cable and a reply to my original message that i can't find again? explaining that the lead i mentioned above was the wrong type and that i think the one i've linked below is correct. So i've deccided to try the aux 2 input lead.

http://http://www.bluespot.co.uk/stock/auxin2.asp

Hope everyone agrees that this will do the job?? If not i'm sure i can modify that bit.

I'll let everyone know how it goes, this could be a cheap way for all us non B&M GP (actives, dynamics etc) drivers to link up our mp3 players.

Appologies for bumping, but did the cable actually work? Seems much cheaper than the ebay alternative. Theres also this http://www.bluespot.co.uk/stock/auxin.asp

Thanks (y)

You want the cable with the yellow plug if you can find one. I have got the one with the blue plug and had to modify it to fit (cut a bit off it). It works fine though.

Hi, I currently have a Sony head unit with an AUX socket at the front but not happy with how it looks so wanting to go back to the standard "Blaupunkt" one. I want to be able to play my ipod tho...

What lead do I need to buy do to this?
Do you also know what adaptor you need for a sub and amp?

Cheers

Pete

Quick note:

If turning up the volume on the stereo when AUX is on is a nuisance to you, then go into the radio menu and go to the "External Audio Vol" setting, crank that up a bit, and that makes the initial volume louder, but doesn't reflect in the actual volume setting. In other words you can adjust it so that the volume "calibration" matches up between the CD/Radio and the AUX.

Just been and tried that and mine wont do that however it blows your ear drums when a travel report comes on.....

Does that not work for you?? Made a massive difference with mine, only have to have the volume set to about 7 or 8 when I've got my phone wired up to it after changing that. But yes it did scare the S**T out of me when a traffic info was next broadcast to me! ;)

How did you get the External Audio volume to 'stick'? When I adjust mine, as soon as I come out of the menu the volume goes back down again. Am I missing something obvious??

Just ebay it. If its not on there chances are u cant have it on there. I know its blunt, but this is usually true ha.

I love this forum! Thanks so much, saved alot of money from reading this! I recently bought a wire from ebay for £9.99 and plugged it in and vola it works! No sound problems or interuptions. Much better than those silly fm transmitters!
