I just went to mcdonalds and was on my way home and went round a bend (not really fast) and it must have hit some ice or disel or something and it jsut spun right around and the left side wheels went up the kerb and the whole left hand side smashed into those metal fences they have around building sites and i didnt get out the car cuz i was ****tin myself how much damage wud be there. n then i got out and my front number plate had snapped off and the plastic cover thing infront of the left wheel smashed and a chunk of plastic off the left hand side of the bumber about a inch long came off so its black. and that was it. the metal fence bent rite down! There is proberly a few more marks but i dunno yet till tomorrow ill take some pics and show u. hope it aint gnna cost much to sort out. All this for a fukin mcdonalds!! hate tha place now never goin agen!

Re: Spun the car around and hit a metal fence!!

unlicky! that doesnt look too bad though, couple of hunderd at the most! Just out of interest, do you have a sporting i.e. do you have asr? I hit an oil patch the other day, the car infrnot went sideways and my little asr light flashed but i stayed nice and straight, if you have asr did the light flicker?

Keep us posted on the costs

Re: Spun the car around and hit a metal fence!!

It looks like one of the lower spec cars to me (plastic trims etc) so it wont have ASR. ASR is anti slip regulator i.e. traction control not stability. Its the sportings stability control that would have prevented you going sideways. I am pretty certain scotts car only has ebd and abs.

As for the damage, think yourself lucky, that isnt too bad at all. Good job it wasnt a permanent fixed fence or you would have more damage!

Re: Spun the car around and hit a metal fence!!

Its just the basic model. I went and looked at the fence today and the circle metal pole has bent over and like snapped, there isnt to much damage abit under the bumper too. Gettin the bumber done for £70 and wen its in i asked em to do the wing mirrors so its £100 the number plate cost £15 and the plastic pannel in the wheel arch is £29. there a few more marks than what i saw last night but it isnt tha bad. its stupid how easy it is to spin if u hit some diesel or ice or something just goes right round. no damage to the tracking either i thought there wud of been cuz both the left front and back wheel smashed off the kerb sideways and then hit the fence side on.

would still maybe have it checked just in case.

if you hit it at speed, then you could have buckled a wheel lightly, or even twisted something.

it might feel fine, but in a few days/miles of driving it might get worse

could be £25/30 well spent

A lot of places its free if your tracking is OK and only charge if it needs correcting.

Yea the one in great bridge. I might get it checked out monday or something then. cheers for your help.

You can see on these photo's where the big black thing at the bottem of the fence used to be and that massive stone thing was on it helpin hold it down and u can see where its split the metal and knocked it all back.
