Re: Metal Plates

I take it you mean metal pressed plates with the 'I' on one side so it looks like it's from the continent/Italy?

Love them, I've only seen the itialian ones on ebay though. When I take my private plate off retention i'll more than likely get a set of these.

Re: Metal Plates

yes the metal pressed plates, abit unsure about getting the 'I' though, as a friend had an 'F' on his saxo and he got pulled by the po po, and was told to remove them. might just get 'GB'. has anyone else doine this yet?

mot requirement now. Plates need the BSAU in the bottom right hand corner and the name and postcode of the place that supplied the plates. Ofcourse that won't matter to you for another 3 years or so.

I think i'd have the 'I' it's the whole point of having them, to give the continental impression. On my last car I had Illegally spaced lettering on my private plate. I had velcro strips on the plate recess and on the plate. It can be taken off and the standard put back on very easily.

I really do like them.

Re: Metal Plates

one problem is that they look fook all like Italian plates

the font is all wrong, and theyre the wrong size and shape, so little point, as they will just look random. Like youve got french plates or something on your Italian car

This is correct they are not the right size for italian plates, simply other euro style with an 'I' rather than an 'F' or similar. Still I hardly think you would be a laughing stock as is what you are insinuating. I still hold the view they look good.

If you can find 'proper' Italian style plates I'd like to know.

Re: Metal Plates

You can get some, but they would be illegal, as the front is too small, and you cant have the double blue sidings. I just dont see the point, they dont look like the plates theyre ment to be so why bother?

I can't imagine the average joe, or even car enhusiast thinking this when I drive my car:

"look at that d*ck! that plate is at least two inches two big and it hasn't got the double blue sidings! what an idiot."

It's hardly something I'm going to cry about.

Tbh I'll probably end up keeping my standards as my private plate looks good.

Re: Metal Plates

I personnaly prefer the clean look of standard plates. Have GB ones at present but only because I was in Europe during the summer and wasn't prepared to put a big GB sticker on the back of the car.
