Hi all,

Can anyone advise me what Fiat's Full recall reference numbers are for the recalls in the sticky post?

I contacted my dealer today regarding the steering shaft flaring issue and they say they have never heard of it. They say the only recall is for what they call an upper steering colum shroud fitment which I assume is the knee plate protector missed out from early right hand drive models.

Thanks,
David

Hi,
The knee plate protector should be a recall for my car 1st registered June 2006. My Vin is on the which website. I assume this has been done as the car was recalled in November 2006 but my Fiat dealer calls it an upper steering column shroud and was a bit unclear as to what this actually was.

The steering shaft flaring should also be a recall according to the VOSA web site and my Vin No (if they can be relied on). My dealer does not seem to have a recall for this though so if anyone has the Fiat recall number I would be gratefull. I have written to VOSA to ask where the got their information from and if they have a Fiat recall code but no reply so far.
Thanks,
David

Just wondered if anyone can help! The heater fan inside my car (Punto Grande) has stopped working, due to burnt out wires behind the dash. I have contacted Fiat but they tell me that this isnt covered on the third year of the warranty. Has anyone had this problem that you are aware of? :confused: However, I took it to my local garage to get the problem fixed, they had to phone a friend at a Fiat dealership who told the garage that this is a common problem, I am ready to explode :bang:

3rd Year warranty isn't a Fiat warranty- it's a third party, and they never cover wiring. If the car's got a full Fiat service history you'd have a chance of a contribution under goodwill from Fiat, no guarantee's though.

If it was the wiring that was covered by the 5299 recall, then what happens from there depends on whether the recall was done, and done right. ;)

It's far from a common problem- we've only changed one heater loom out of all the GP's we've sold since launch. Bad connections can happen anywhere, and most of the time they're a one-off accident.

The fault you have is;
1) not covered by 3rd year warranty,nowiring faults are.
2) Its not a common problem although not unknown, every mass production manufacture has had this type of issue (search other forums if you dont believe me)
3) Nothing to do with any recall

Just need to pay to get it fixed.
