Airbag Failure

Hey guys, i started my GP1.9Sporting last night, that started, but the dashboard full of all lights on, and the message 'Airbag Failure'. It even showed the tank as being empty with a flashing fuel light?? (It was full!) The car would have driven fine, tried to start again but the same. Went out later and started without the usual delay for the plugs to heat and it started fine no problems. Any ideas?? Havent been or spoken to dealer yet as i just havent got time to take it there, car drives fine today and started as normal. Although it hasnt been 100% right since the whole loss of power incident, EGR valve replacement etc etc. Any thoughts?

Try charging the battery, not being flippant but it may help eliminate it.

Re: Airbag Failure

Why would the battery have anything to do with it?? There are no other problems to suggest the battery.

I saw it in another post, battery may seem ok as it starts the car, but that effort lowers the battery output enough to play havoc with the warning systems, I thought its something no-cost and not intrusive.

Ignore if you wish. Its just an extremely rare complaint.

Re: Airbag Failure

Probably needs a software update on the body computer... Check the known issues and faults sticky and do a search its been covered many many times

As Ffoxy says could also be caused by a low battery charge

check and clean the battery clamps and apply a smear of grease bad contacts be it on the battery or chassis are also known to cause issues with the power steering, temperature warning gage to name but a few
