| clicking off when fueling up. when i fill up with petrol, many pumps click off all the time, as if the tank was full, but its not. i have to not put the nozzel all the way in to stop it happening. then you end up with vapour pouring out, because i can see it. surely this isnt right?

| Re: clicking off when fueling up. I make sure i fill my car up before going to the Whitby area the prices of fuel are shocking in that area Those BP stations near Thornton-le dale should have a picture of Dick Turpin on the forecourt as soon as you hit Escrik (spl) on the A19 the price jumps a good few pence a ltr.....we are running at 97.9 in Goole Atm Back on topic I found the local bp station does the same have no problem at Shell (in Goole)

| No more heroes anymore. | Re: clicking off when fueling up. Its not your car thats faulty its the pump. Petrol pump shut offs are designed around and based on Bernoulli`s principle....otherwise known as the venturi effect. They work in the same way carbs do. For those who are old enough.....we did it in O level Physics.......do a search and check it out.

| Re: clicking off when fueling up. You may find this helpful. When the pump clicks for the first time, I leave it in the filler for 30 seconds and then carry on filling up. It takes approx 0.8 litres before clicking again, at which point the tank is full. Let me know if I am talking bulls***t please! Cheers!
