| RAC 500W | Re: Brakes When you say a scraping sound when is this? Is it under normal braking or when braking in reverse, etc. This seems a fairly common thing. With regards to the rust mine are the same, annoying but they all seem that way. Rich

| RAC 500W | Re: Brakes I cant say i have had it going forwards in mine. A lot of owners have had it when braking in reverse and if i remember rightly it required a revised shim kit. Yours sounds like something different though, i would certainly ask the dealer and see what they say. Hopefully someone else here may be able to shed some light on it. T will probably know, he seems to know everything else, lol. Rich

| BEng Automotive Engineer | Re: Brakes I had noises in both forward and reverse. Loud noise in reverse and a squeal when braking whilst going forward. A trip to the dealer got me a full set of new pads (front and rear). So far its seemed to have done the trick. Basically, if it keeps doing it go back to the dealer.

| Re: Brakes EX07 is the disc surface rusty? if it is as you say it could be corrosion on the disc surface... your best bet is to find a nice quiet road or car park and do several stops from say 50mph dont just slam the brakes on gradually apply the pressure then back off (this allows any rust build up on the pads to escape off the leading edge) once you have done that try a couple of emergancy stops (the ABS and EBD takes some getting used to if you've not had it before and it might surprise you how fast the computer can stop it see if that helps
