Outside Temp Gauge-how Long To Fix

GOT MY CAR BACK FROM THE BODYSHOP ITS PERFECT ALL BUT THE OUTSIDE TEMPRETURE GAUGE AINT SHOWING A READING ON THE ON THE DASH?does anyone know how long it would take to fix and what is needed to done physically to the car in order to fix it?i.e.is it a straight forward hour job to replace or fix.any help would appreciated guys cheers

Outside air temp sensor is fitted to the underside of the driver's door mirror.

The connector is in the base of the mirror behind a panel (though these usually break when removed! ). Does the rest of the electrics for the mirror work ok, ie does the motor operate up & down, left & right? If not it's possible the lot is disconnected.

I had one case where water travelled down the wiring and badly corroded the terminals, which meant a whole new mirror assembly (warranty! )- which a dealer wouldn't normally stock, meaning probably two trips.

cheers chaps it so happens they took the drivers door mirror off to respray it.the mirror adjust fine,but thats what it is bang on the money lads.taking it back to them friday the bonnet is all swirl marks covered in them its a new bonnet as well.they supergaurded all the new panels and that polish is the worst to get off your car i have ever come across it crystallises goes very hard.NOT RECOMMENDED
