| Hi All I have also got several niggles with my 56 GP 1.4 Dynamic, the window, glove box, road noise etc - will get them sorted when I get round to it. Yesterday I had a traumatic drive through Leeds City Centre, not because of the traffic, or because I got lost (they were expected traumas), but because after the second set of traffic lights on the way in, the car started to make a noise when going from 2nd to 1st gear and vice versa. It has been a little sticky going into first for a while, but I cant decide if the noise it's making is a squeak, or a grinding/ gear crunch noise! It isn't very loud, but is annoying. Other than the noise and the stickiness going into 1st gear, nothing feels different. All other gear changes are as they should be. I moved the leather around the gear stick when I finally got parked, but the problem was still there four hours later when I set off to go home. I went through quite a drastic flooded road on Tuesday, and on Tuesday night the car alarm decided to go off every 15 mins, this has sorted itself out now and I assumed this was down to water getting where it shouldn't. Might be coincidence? I thought I would ask if anyone had any suggestions about the squeak/grind issue? I am off on holiday on Tuesday morning and am worried the car might break on the 40 mile drive to the airport? I will try and get it into the dealer before then, but this depends on if they can slot it in. Please help regards wendy

| Re: Gearbox - squeak or crunch problem? if youre still moving and tryin to change into gear 1, the gearbox has some kind of limiting effect so that you dont enforce high revs on the car by accident thus causing engine damage,

| Re: Gearbox - squeak or crunch problem? What transmission do you have? If its a dualogic then read this link and save us all! http://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punt...-gear-pt1.html If not take it back to the dealer. Had a problem with 3rd gear for a bit and it turned out to be a gear linkage fault. Easily sorted

| Re: Gearbox - squeak or crunch problem? Hi Now that is interesting my 1.2 Active has started a similar thing. The selection from neutral into first and first to second has become obstructive and feels rubbery, it doesnt do it all the time and feels worse when its warm, it feels like it needs some grease on it somewhere. When i looked underneath the gear lever cover it appears to be all plastic and nylon so I dont think grease would work. By coincidence I was in Leeds when I first noticed it. Any ideas ???? Roscoe

| Re: Gearbox - squeak or crunch problem? Hi Mine made it to the airport and back, was fine all the way home, but once parked up and went out again - it was back, isnt as pronounced as before but is still there. Am going to try and get it booked in tomorrow as the suspension has started knocking... argghhh! Will let you know if they cure it, or at least know what is causing it. btw is not a dualogic gearbox
