Remap and electrical faults ?

I am getting the GP remapped soon but am concerned that if i have electrical problem ( Fiat are known for poor electircs) that the map could possibly be deleted if the dealer has to do a flash of the ecu to delete a possible electrical fault...

Am i right to be concerned ?

I have had remaps on previous cars and this has not bothered me but they werent renowned for poor electrics. With the new GP have the electrics improved or am i just being too concerned over historic views on Fiat electircs ?

I think i will go Angel Tunning aswell

Thanks

Re: Remap and electrical faults ?

software updates are brought out for performance/economy/possible fault purposes not because of poor electrics.

Re: Remap and electrical faults ?

angel will come out for £25 and reset it to standard before you take your car in if you wish....

and as someone else said, if they 'update' your software and wipe the map, andgel will come back and put it in again

Re: Remap and electrical faults ?

Any error codes are stored in a separate part of the ECU memory, the maps are untouched unless Fiat bring out software updates to cure issues.
