k&n induction kit finally on

HELLO EVERYONE!

I know that you are all going to say why the k&n induction kit etc. so please don't.
I have got it fitted to my 1.2 gp, sounds so deep, much better than before and has enabled me to use first gear a bit more to generate speed as i found before it was pretty useless.
one query though, i had to remove two pipes from my air filter, one that i connect back to the induction kit but the other one is the vacuum, i did not get supplied a plastic cap for it for some reason could i use something different on this? any help would be lovely!

Thanks
James

Re: k&n induction kit finally on

well i got mine on and it sounds good. deeper sound, its good.

i removed the airbox and the suction pipe thing on the left. the cone filter itself is attatched to the pipe from the throttle body that used to go into the air box where the panel filter is.

Re: k&n induction kit finally on

what did you do about the pipe at the rear of the airbox?
you noticed a difference in performance?

Re: k&n induction kit finally on

i dont know about a pipe on the rear of the airbox. the 1.2 is different probably. theres one pipe that goes to the throttle body which is behind the airbox kind of. thats the pipe u stick the filter on the end of though.

Re: k&n induction kit finally on

Doesn't look too bad, but makes things look a bit, umm, bare. especially in my 1.4 8v sport.

Re: k&n induction kit finally on

Why did you get a K&N... Sorry but it has to be said.

The filter themselves are of great quality but its the placements which gets me!!! That filter sits right above the manifold and sucks in most of the hot air which rises. The cold air feed helps abit but you will now be sucking in around 70% more hot air than the original kit and in many cases will be loosing performance not gaining anything but a deeper engine note!

If you look at the GSR kit fitted to my Panda 100HP 1.4 16v you will see the kit provides me with massive torque increases due to the length of the pipe and also sucks in loads of freezing cold air from the front wing!

I choose to keep the orginal box in place with my GSR due to it looking less bear on the 1.4 16v engine!

Cheers
