Had to happen

Well it finally has happened. 4 week old car (MY) has developed the same old problems the older model has and is in the dealers today to get fixed.

We have:-

Water in the boot door every time it rains or gets washed.

Glove box has dropped out of alignment

washers hit the wiper blade arms rarther than the window.

Three stupid faults that fiat were aware of on the previous grande. So IMO the MY is a complete waste of time. Why doesnt fiat listen to its customers? Surely these stupid faults can be stopped in the manufacturing process?

To me these type of issues are the worst kind as they are avoidable and just shows poor workmanship on an otherwise beautiful car.

Have you been back to the dealer yet? If so what have they got to say about it?

Re: Had to happen

I agree with you on this. It really is unacceptable, especially considering they are such simple problems that are easily resolved. I honestly believe that sometimes they just ignore any customer feedback because it makes their life easier and keeps costs down.

I have had my glovebox adjusted a few times and it only lasts for a short while then reverts back. The dealer said to me its just something ive got to live with because it was manufactured wrong.

I still blame Italy winning the world cup for the problems with my car, a bit of glory and they all get sloppy, lol.

Re: Had to happen

Well at least it's nothing really serious and should be relatively simple to fix...let us know how it goes.

Re: Had to happen

Its in at the moment getting fixed.

The funny thing is though that the glove box was 100% straight when I collected it and dropped within 5 days. No weight was in the glovebox other than an ipod nano and im sure thats not enough lol.

Will let you know how it goes

Lol, warwickshire and hot dont end up in the same sentence very often. At this moment in time it is raining here.

It does appear that they have just adjusted before you have picked it up and then it has just worked it way off line again.

Re: Had to happen

well the washer jets cant be adjusted and as such they aint fixing em as the spray does hit the widscreen (all be it diverted by the wiper arm).

Glovebox fixed for now

Water is being let in from the spoiler/top of back window. They have mailed fiat on how to fix and will have to go back in for repair later on.

What a bag a **** is all i can say

Re: Had to happen

this type of posting is far to common. Fiat go to the trouble of designing and building one of the best looking cars on the road and then decide during the actual building 'sod it that will do'.
Although ours has been ok so far (touch wood) still to many faults for to many people NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

Re: Had to happen

I was in my showroom the other day waiting for my Doblo's A/C to be looked at (no probs apparently, I was wondering if it wasn't cooling properly) and I sat in a GP. They are very good looking cars, and cars are very seductive in the showroom. When I opened the glovebox it stuck badly and had to be pulled/pushed to work. Not much room inside anyway, but the misfit didn't impress, and had I been a prospective customer I'd probably have walked. Fiat really needs to look at these problems as, judging from this site, they aren't going away. And why do they have a faulty car on display?

Re: Had to happen

Captain chaos/the bootlid filling with water has already been logged by me as known fault even though both my dealer and fit uk had written to me saying it is a characteristic of this car what b------s that was and bootlid was changed as it was manufactured badly and problem cured.
This said my vehicle build quality is poor and it will again be visiting fiat dealer for one week to sort outstanding faults and this was only as a result of contacting ceo of fiat uk for help this makes 33days in for repairs in nine months of ownership.
