Tyre pressures

What tyre pressures are people putting in their 1.9 Sportings?

The book says 2.6 bar for the fronts and 2.3 for the rears, this is 38 psi at fronts and 33 at the rears. This seems quite high to me.

Any advice would be good or should I just go with the book pressures?

Cheers

Alex

no idea... but I know the diesel engine is heavy, and the tyres are XL (extra load) so they have stiffer sidewalls.....with such a low profile and a large weight the pressure has to be high, it'd be interesting to know if the 1.4 has XL tyres on it..... have a look on the sidewall and post back

Re: Tyre pressures

Yes, I checked tyres and they have Extra load mark.

I can't understand why there is not information at all about tyre pressure on 1.4 Sporting

Re: Tyre pressures

I'd just make it the same as the 1.9 then... the overall weight of the car won't be much different.....

Why do very few people read the hand book? Most of the answers are there

Re: Tyre pressures

Problem is that here in Macedonia they don't have manual for GP Sporting 1.4 16V at all, they are giving standard manual and there are present information only for 1.2 and 1.4 8V petrol models, not for 1.4 16V Sporting.

Re: Tyre pressures

In the UK we only get one manual that covers all versions and all optional equipment of the car.
