First Fault Recieved

Hey Guys

dont know if this has been mentioned or if anyone has had this yet but thought i post this up......

noticed a leak the other day, so had this checked out and it was a leak from the passenger's side drive shaft gear box seal. was only a small leak coming out tho..

When got Fiat to look at it, apprantly it wasnt connected properly, which is shocking to hear. Didnt take long to sort out but will see if this will stop the problem

The car i have is the 1.9, 56 plate with 8,000 miles.

Re: First Fault Recieved

i have a 55 plate 1.4 active sport and had the same problem - a leak on the passenger side seal. this was spotted during the service in November and was "repaired". Today, i heard a pop and the car gave up with no power through the accelerator. there was a big puddle of fluid under the near side front tyre and when the recovery vehicle driver saw it he confirmed it was the near side drive shaft which had gone. in garage at dealers now, but they "might not be able to look at it until Monday" - this is Wed - not impressed. Thinking of punting my punto! sick of fiat and their dealerships.not happy

Am quite sure they are doing all they can but you must understand that others have booked in often weeks in advance & they must come first.

Question Re: First Fault Recieved

just that the drive shaft had popped out? they said they were ordering a new part from italy on the friday and it would be ready by the tuesday and they called on the monday to say it was ready- was a bit surprised as didn't think a new part would arrive that quickly but they assured me it had but then it broke down again. back to garage and repaired the next day - presume they didn't do the repair properly the first time. they didn't give me a repair sheet as they said it would go to fiat so they could claim under the warranty. so who knows if i have a new part or not but the car seems to be ok - touch wood. toying with trading it in before mot's and no warranty come along in january..............
