| Cleaning GP Sporting Alloys (Recommended Product inside) Hi folks, I relise that this should be in the cleaning section, but to be honest it only really relates to 1.9 sportings with the polished wheels. I was at the motorbike show at the week end and went to the autoglym stand, explianed the fact that I had really dirty wheels and was scared to use anything on them. The guy at the stand was really helpful and recommended a bottle of "CUSTOM WHEEL CLEANER". A new product just launced by Autoglym. Its a foam that sprays on the wheel, and sticks to the wheel, leave it for a minute. Give it a light rub with a sponge or wheel brush and rinse what a result. Totally 100% safe no acids or alkilies used in the production whatsoever, like using dove soap on the wheels. Also once the wheels are clean you can dilute it 50/50 with water and use it on a weekly basis One bottle costs £6.99 and I used the whole bottle cleaning my wheel but they were v.dirty. I will spray them once a week from now on, 5 minute job

| Re: Cleaning GP Sporting Alloys (Recommended Product inside) Interesting, why dont you just use same cleaner you use to wash your paintwork? thats what i do and it gets the everyday dirt/grime off my wheels really really easily. Surely you can only get a wheel so clean...

| Re: Cleaning GP Sporting Alloys (Recommended Product inside) I have tried SO many products and keep going back to a bottle of astonish wheel cleaner, it costs one pound (I am in US cannot find pound sign) from cheap shops and does a great job of keeping on top of wheels and contains no acid. Top clean the wheels I use a Meguires ultra safe wheel brush, its a cone and cleans the spokes and to the back of the wheels in one and for the face I use a preminum wheel brush from halfrauds (own brand) it takes me 15mins to don my wheels properly this way and always look great. EDIT: Not sure how good the wheel cleaner is for really bad wheels, mine get done once a weekish. But because its so cheap, you can use plenty and often!

| <Team TD> | Re: Cleaning GP Sporting Alloys (Recommended Product inside) Sounds interesting, i may have to give it a go. I' m pretty worried about using anything acid based on my wheels, as i used wonder wheels on my last set and it destroyed them and had to have them replaced by the dealer Is this stuff in the shops now? or is coming out soon?

| Re: Cleaning GP Sporting Alloys (Recommended Product inside) I just use car shampoo as the alloys are sealed with alloy wax and this stops the brake dust, dirt, tar bonding with the alloy. I apply this before the winter and summer season after a complete clean with Megs wheel brightner, clay and polish .
