(S) Bonnet Struts

Hey guys, has anyone fitted or thought about fitting bonnet struts? Just another little mod I though would be cool. Ive had a look around, but nothing for the GP. But im sure you can use Struts off another vehicle with the same weight bonnet as the GP. Might go to a scrapyard and a couple cheaply and try it see if it works, if so might buy a new set...

Stilo uses struts....

Do you reckon it would be a straight forward job, if taken off the Stilo?

No idea at the mo mate I'll take a peek under the bonnet of wifeys Stilo and my GP after the Singapore GP has finnished..... and the rain eases off....

Gonna look at some cars at the scrappy to see if I can get some gas struts... should be able too, thought it would look good... going to paint some parts in the engine orange too just to give it abit of a better look... post some pictures when done... comments welcome

Got a Strut off an old Honda Civic and found a spot to fit it but weather is shi*e so got to wait until its nice and sunny! lol

ye ditto, i know there isnt many struts about for the grande, if any! so seeing this work would be interesting!

Right, Ive been to the Scrappy again because the struts I got were too long, so went back today and got some off a Volvo S40, they are alot shorter, but I hope they can hold the wait, I got them for free so there aint no harm in trying... but it is a perfect it... I want to do this cause I think it will look pretty smart... Ill keep you updated

Hey guys, after spending 3 hours on working with the struts im sad to say I dont think it can be done, well, only by a proper equipped garage. Im annoyed but I dont want to rip my engine bay apart. The bonnet is too flush against the wing... as the struts ive seen on other cars the bonnet is flat unlike the GP's. I wont give up, If I see a right fitting I will do it. Might even see the local modification garage to see what they think.

let us know if you find a garage who can manage it 'cos i'd definately like some struts!! What about some off a stilo? those might work?

Yeh, well im back at the scrappy saturday so ill pinch some then so what they are like...
