Re: K&n

They are crap. Look at the placement of it. Right on top of the engine sucking up all the hot air instead of getting nice cool air which is good for the engine. You might gain tp end but you will probably loose torque which will slow you down accelerating a bit which is what really counts.

Looks through and search for posts on K'n'N To save people reposting what they have already said.

Oh and learn how to use punctuation it will make your posts alot easier to read.

Re: K&n

The fact you've posted this thread in the 'styling' section shows you need to do some more research.

Re: K&n

hey az, glad to see you on forum.

have to agree with people here there rubbish. However some people have a budget and if they dont care for sound/performace and just wont to say "i have a induction kit" with a small sound increase its fine.

the gsr sound AWESOME when your in the car or stood next to it, cant really get a good feel for it on a video due to mobile phone sound quality. Got a rear rip and a roar to it.

There £65 on the bay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/K-N-57I-INDUCTION-KIT-FIAT-GRANDE-PUNTO-1-2-1-4-8V-05_W0QQitemZ310058884017QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item31 0058884017&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&_t rksid=p3286.c0.m14),
though think you can get em cheaper, you get what you pay for really mate.

each to their own though people have different priorities.

i would like to hear oldschools opionion on these

Re: K&n

Ultimately with a short induction you will get more power than with a very long one. But this is only applicable when going racing.

The problem with short induction is that torque virtually doesn't exist in usable amounts. The GP is quite heavy and the engines are fairly underpowered. Additionally you will suffer from excessive underbonnet temperature.

For fuel consumption and performance reasons I would rather stay with the standard induction, which is not as bad as people think.

When we had the first GP 1.2 mapped and installed the induction kit, the car @ 50mph (according to speedo) was pulling up the hill in top gear and gained speed (on A406 at Woodford), which it was not able to do so before.

With the shortened induction the car will have to be revved even harder than with standard induction.

By the time the air gets through that pipe it will be warm anyway. he filter is sitting on top of the engine, don't kid yourself that your pipe is actually doing anything.

I think this is more of a technical issue rather than styling surely?
