Stripes is right, 40mm is perfect, I wouldn't go any lower.

40mm is nothing Makes the grande look at a standard height and not on stilt's like they are as standard.

Well you dont want to arch it when you go over bumps lol, and 40mm is what everyone has been saying, I would lower mine buy my insurance company allows no mods so when I change next year I may lower it.

Re: Need to lower for 17's?

You go slower then simple as that. you would be fine on a 60mm drop imo. Only thing you would have to be carefull of is the sump as it sits quite low(or it does on my t-jet anyway)

Your right but 40mm seems to be what most people go for, due to comfort etc. Also i've heard that you need to change the shocks as well as the standard ones wear out quickly when lowered.

Re: Need to lower for 17's?

People are changing to 35-40 as thats the only springs that are available for the gp at the moment.
coilovers are the way forward.

They wear out a bit faster but not substantially. If you get coilovers everything is replaced anyway so it is irrelivant

Completely agree. Mine is dropped 40mm and nowhere near enough, coilovers asap. The car just looks standard at the back. If somebody has to ask you 'has it been lowered' then its nowhere near low enough! Bear in mind it will handle way better on coilies than springs.

I didn't realise the low sump was a problem on the t-jet aswell, I thought it was just a multijet thing...

Re: Need to lower for 17's?

It looks it imo, Might just be the sump guard that sits low but ive had it catch on a couple of things already so god knows how bad it would be lowered lol. Might have to whip the guard off and see if it gives me more room.
