Rear Lights What Do You Think

Ok am in the mood to spruce up my Sporting again so have just ordered a titanium Linea Front Grille from Ebay and was thinking about changing the rear lights as well. There doesn't seem to be many about but what I can see seems to be on Ebay as well. They have Lexus style ones in either chrome or black. My car is Orleans Blue which is a fairly dark blue. Do you think the black lights would suit it better than the Chrome?

Your thoughts would be appreciated, or if you know of any other lights avaliable then please tell me

Thanks

Im sure the linea grille only comes in plastic not expensive metals such as titanium and i think you should just tint your rear lights.

Ha Ha ok I wish it was, sorry I meant its anthracite.

How do you go about tinting them yourself?

Re: Rear Lights What Do You Think

take them out and spray them from a distance with rear light tint spray and then refit them.
or take them out and spray them from a distance with black spray paint then spray a clear gloss coat over and polish then refit them.
have you seen them tinted?

http://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punt...ts-tinted.html
obviously how dark they are depends on how many coats you do.

Re: Rear Lights What Do You Think

Hmmm that looks like a pretty good idea and a lot cheaper than buying a new set. Does it not prevent the light getting through though?

Re: Rear Lights What Do You Think

I think the tinted lights mite look a bit odd unless you tint the windows to match. I've got the new Orleans blue and i personally think the lights suit it loads. If you do tint you got to get the right balance, on the one hand you dont want to do too lightly that it just looks dirty or if bulb has smoked and on the other hand you don't want it completely black.

Re: Rear Lights What Do You Think

the only rear lights ive found are the ones from Ultra. i have a 19 sporting in orange, ive got the windows tinted and the roof also. i have a pair of the black back lights and they look well (i agree that the chrome plastic ones do look tacky at times), also they help the continuation of the black and orange exterior, its not like im gonna put any 2 minute £10 stickers on, or take away my cars dignity by putting some horrendus lonley tribal graphics down my doors ha ha. i would prefer smoked but im no good at that sort of thing and depending how dark you want em could put you in a legal grey area. but, hey, thats just my opinion.
Trash and treasure and all that.

Re: Rear Lights What Do You Think

if there is a way to remove the shell from the lights.

you could order chrome and then spray to body colour then re-apply the plastic shel over the top

im comtemplating doing it with my red gp

Well the lights look red anyway so wouldn't that be pointless on a red GP?

If you could remove the housing I'd get rid of the orange part and put in a clear bulb. I keep trying to get round to having a go but I never have time.
