Don't be so silly its a Fiat Punto not a Bugatti Veryon, its not a specialist job any monkey with a decent tool kit could do it. Don't p**s your money away paying a stealer, save it for your service instead!.

Should be about £60 at an independant!!.

As for insurance shop around big style mods effect different people / cars differantly. Personally I wouldn't bother declaring it.

I wouldn't bother at all unless your a sucker for punishment.

Or at the very most declare them when you renew that way you can change provider without loosing your no claim for this period.

Re: Lowering quote

apologies i misread the post yes agree dampers will be fecked very quickly if running lowered springs, so therefor safe to assume the sporting which sits what 20mm lower will have shortened dampers compared to the normal cars?

reason i ask is my sporting has doen 26k and feels like the dampers are shot and its standard!

so looking to see if anyone has fitted good aftermarket shocks to stand sporting springs as I don't want to go lower or stiffer

Re: Lowering quote

Really upto the person in the end if they declare the modifications to there car. I must admit you'll be in the **** if you don't and you have a crash and they notice. They will not pay out and you'll be done for not having insurance.

By looking at the springs, it's obvious by looking at them if they're original springs or aftermarket lowered ones.

Re: Lowering quote

lol anyone ever written a car off before?

when my old alfa was totalled i got a call from the assesor asking me why my car had a diffeent interior diff wheels different bumpers diffferent steering wheel and lowered suspension as he had inspected thr wreck and they didn't match alfa uk specs for the car.

took a week for him to relaise it was a P4 model 33 and nothing liek a standard 16ver! so yes they can be very picky if its costing them money! my car was mangled yet he was able to tell the dampers nd springs were not standard alfa 33 fitment (incidentally they wer oem P4 fitment)

so on your own head be it

Re: Lowering quote

Why don't you just not get insurance then skitz? thats breaking the law enough!

I'm thinking more about the other person you crash into, if your insurance is void what happens with them??

If you dont declare that to direct line, and then you crash and injure someone the next day, you will likely spend the rest of your life paying them compensation money.

The guy said to me, if you are under 25, your policy will be invalidated instantly if you mod your car.
