New focus RS will loose too much cash to justify buying new, merc SLK is gay. But the supra... Yes thanks!!

Get an older Focus RS, gorgeous car, tuneable and hold their value VERY well.

Re: Nitrous

Yes I love the Supra's needs alot of expendable income to keep them mint though. Recommended Oil changes at 3k miles especially if modified. I know someone with one near me and his has just chomped a turbo pissing out black smoke everywhere. Needs a new one at 1200quid, other one just needed rebuilding at 600quid. Oh and tyres are about 250quid each too

Re: Nitrous

You can get a nice pair of hybrids for that much money!
As for the Nitrous debate, as long as you know what you're doing and know where the boundaries are, then you will be fine. But just dont watch the F&F and get ideas.... I have fitted a wet nitrous system on a Subaru track car that a mate and i own and it is really very simple. We have it on an arming switch and then a WOT switch, the main problems come when you either use too much, or use it at the wrong moment. Saying all that, i dont know if i would fit it on my Supra

Re: Nitrous

Dave the trike had a nos bottle in his 1.2 16V for ages, even after he supercharged the engine.

As long as you do a bit of research you shouldn't blow the head gasket, as with all other car mods though you can't dump a load of power in without uprating everything else to cope with it.

Tyres/brakes/suspension/clutch/diff/headgasket/pistons etc etc etc.

But if you have the money and the time go for it and post it up.

I loved Dave's thread and so did many others as it was origina, what he wanted to do, always more fun than going to buy a faster car.

As for me I just barely afford to keep my 1.2 on the road so my mods are limited to uprated light bulbs and spark plugs Still keeps me happy tinkering around on a Saturday.

Re: Nitrous

AFAIK Wizards of NOS are the only kits that most insurers will cover over here.

Re: Nitrous

AGAIN: "
Although diesel systems are a fairly new concept the principals are similar to regular wet systems and over the years we've been involved with them we've developed a very good understanding.
The beauty of nitrous injection in diesels is it's simplicity. Getting mixture ratios correct isn't critical and an overly rich mixture will still generate power. Similarly a lean condition won't necessarily damage a diesel engine as it may a petrol."

Diesel rocks!!
