Re: GPS Rear Lights Tinted

they look pretty mint! i wanted to buy the abarth rear lights because there darker than standard one's, but it looks like u can get a similar affect tinting them. but i have a few questions:

1. are they legal?
2. can u get a lighter tint?
3. where can i buy it from and how much? (halfords im guessing)
4. is it easy to do? what is required? (removing them obviously, but do you have to sand etc?

cheers

Thanks for your comments, I'm really pleased with them.

1.The spray is from Halfords and priced at £14.99

2.On the tin it says its illegal but I haven't been pulled up on it yet and I tinted my lights on my pervious car and that it 2 years with no trouble.

3.The tint comes in different colours and you can have it as dark as you like, depends how many coats you give them. I used a tin per light and mine are really dark.

4. Its easy to do just remove the lights, spray them, leave them to dry, put them back in and then buff them up after 24hours.

Re: GPS Rear Lights Tinted

its worth ago, you can also buy a tint remover if it all goes pear shaped. not sure wat its called but it should be next to the tint.

Re: GPS Rear Lights Tinted

Everyone will copy you, it looks pretty damn good tbh.

Only thing is, does it wreck the "sparkly LED" look that the GP has at night? Looks nice enough as it is!!

Re: GPS Rear Lights Tinted

in the day the brake lights shown though them is ok, but not brilliant and indicators are fine in the day and night and the brake lights are fine at night. but it all depends on how dar you spray them. also I dont my previous car and the tint does slightly fade over time and after washing in. I had my previous car 2 years and it looked good when i done it and still looked good when i sold it. and in the day you have got the brake light at the top of your rear wind screen.

I'd definetly try and sort the brake lights out, don't be suprised if you get someone go straight in to the back of you... if there only 'ok' then imho thats dangerous.

It looks ace at the moment, but safety over looks anyday. You definetly want the brake lights to be a noticeable as possible.

Re: GPS Rear Lights Tinted

You spray the outside mate.

fenton jd thanks for your comment and quite right safety is more inportant so i think i'll get some led brake light bulbs the ones with 19 led's or something which are much brighter than the standard bulbs. I with take some pics asap of my lights wen they are on in the day and night thanks
