New 18"s - wheel bolts or wheel studs

Hi,

Can someone please explain to me the difference between "wheel bolts" and "wheel studs"?

I was looking at some 18"s for my GP Sporting, and told that the GPS has "wheel bolts" - can I get around this by getting a new set of bolts?

edit: this topic probably best suited in the technical section.

Thanks in advance,

wheel bolts are bolts that screw into the hub. studs is where a threaded bar comes out of the hub and a nut screws onto that.

if your getting new wheels i would recommend getting the correct bolts with the correct seating for the wheels. if you get the wrong seat it will create pressure points and sheer the bolt.

nothing, theyre just differrent names. unless u mean wheel nuts and wheel studs, if thats the case nuts are just the ring bit(the threads will already be on the wheel hub) studs\bolts are what the gp has and they are the long screws that go thru the wheel and into the hole inside the hub.

I think its 100, but could be 98. In my handbook (which i suppose is standard for all GPs it says 100 at the bottom...?

Anyone know the definitive answer to this?
