What a newbie - Alloy questions.

Hi all. Very new here and very new to this car thing.

I have a Grande Punto Active 1.2 3dr.
It's blue. I love it.

Anyways, as I got it on finance I believe I'm going to have it for a long time and therefore I want to do all sorts of beautiful things to it.

Starting with alloys.

That's as far as my knowledge goes. I want shiny metal wheels.

So my questions are:
What do I need
Where do i look
How much money will I need to get together
Size
Type

Ah the joys of being a newbie.
Cheers folks
Jet

Re: What a newbie - Alloy questions.

You will need to find out the offset and PCD of the wheels you want and compare it to the grandes pcd and offset. Have a search as it will have been covered before no doubt. How much they will be is totally dependant on what style/size/brand of wheel you want and what rubber comes with them. size wise up to 18's will fit i belive and not sure on the width maybe 7.5/8" wide.

Re: What a newbie - Alloy questions.

Nah its easy. Most wheel places will be able to put together a package for you if you tell them what car you have so you wont have to worry about offset and PCD etc

Re: What a newbie - Alloy questions.

Yeah that would be the simplest way to go about things but more expensive, surely?

Re: What a newbie - Alloy questions.

The GP has a PCD of 4x100, ET38 and a centre bore of 56.6.

exactly the same as every 4 stud vauxhall in existance AFAIK.

tyre size is either a 195/65 or 195/60 (cant remember which off top of my head) for 15's, and 215/40 for 17's (you can get away with 205/40 but will look small.)

Actually its:

185(195)/55(50)/R15
195(205)/45(50)/R16
205/40/R17
215(225)/35(40)/R18

() = optional sizes.

A 195/50/15 will look waaay too small on a GP will need to be at least a 55 profile. as for 17s the GP sportings are fitted with 205/45 profile as standard.
