18's

18's

No probs Straight on. You will not get transmisson probs or gear probs on 18's (correct fit of course) or speed variances (2mph topps per 30mph)

By the looks of things the profile of that tyre is much less than that of the standard tyre so that would explain the ease.

I guessed as much. Yes and no with how long they will last, it all depends if you want to sacrifice grip or not.

Re: 18's

roger that!

But also it depends how you drive. Not having 4wd anymore and funkall bhp I find i drive very conservative. I had the same quality rubber on my very first punto (obviously its changed throught 10 years), but that lasted 3 years no probs. I expect no less from this.

Oh yeah of course it does. I suppose that is inevitable if you havent got the power your less likely to be tearing it up. On a 1.2 i would expect at least the same like you say.

Christ I bet thats one slow car now (1.2 8v, 1.4 8v). Expect your gearbox / diff to take a pounding. Really needs lowered due to the size of the rims.

Better tyres are a softer compound, meaning they usually don't last as long.

But again, if you're driving in a 1.2 conservatively then they should last you long enough anyway.

I haven't got a problem with your size of wheel, I just think its a shame to go down the performance route with your GP and weigh it down with heavy wheels, not to mention the cost of tyres. especially when the mjet wheels are so nice as standard.
