Post remap

I've just had my Grande Sporting remapped at Red Dot yesterday. Thanks to Peter and his team for making this car drive fantastically. Drove home last night and couldn't believe the difference. 175bhp and 265 lbs/ft torque is just what it needed!! Fuel economy is impressive too.

Big thanks to Chris (red Grande) who answered some of my questions too

Just wanted to ask if there are any tips post remap that I should look out for and if there are any negative things that I should know about?

Any help would be welcome as I really want to look after the car as best I can.

Just drive properly and don't ride the clutch and everything will be fine . One thing to check in a few thousand miles is to look out for what PuntoKris is getting on his regarding soot leaking out the EGR valve gasket.

Re: Post remap

ive had mine mapped and its going back to the dealer cause their had been an oil or coolant leak of some sort plus they mentioned some pipes could possibly be loose near the turbo which they want to look at, hopefully it will be ok but i do have worries regarding anything to do with the turbo !

Also check for a cokey turbo.

I guess this could happen without the remap though. Do you have worries that the map is to blame?

he he I bet I looked a right twot with that big grin on my face when I came back from test!

I'm no mechanic. EGR valve gasket and turbo checking are way past my level so any more detailed help would be welcome. You mentioned the tyre wear which Im getting ready for.

Looks like theres some worrying about dealers finding out about remaps

Which is totally unfounded scaremongering. There is no reason for the dealer to find out or even suspect it unless there is a fault with the ECU and they examine it in great depth. The only thing it changes is the fuel map.

The exact same grin I had last year when mine was done

I'll post up a thread soon on what the egr valve looks like etc, and as far as the turbo goes just look how black it is basically to show any blowing of the gaskets.

I wouldn't worry about it. Nobody else is experiencing anything.
