thinking about some new alloys...

i want something black. any ideas. also... i have a question. why do most places sell tyres on the alloys in 205/40/17. (the car came with a 45 profile). surely a smaller profiles gonna mess things up for your speedo etc

Re: thinking about some new alloys...

I would imagine if you went for a tyre with a lower profile than you have on a Sporting the ride would be pretty damn bad? if your tyres are still good just get a wheels only package and keep it how Fiat intended, they obviously have the more expensive tyre size for a reason, however if changing wheels 18s and lowering is probably the way to go.....

Re: thinking about some new alloys...

yeh your wheels are nice. im wanting some team dynamics racings 1.2's if i an stretch to it.

the point is that with a smaller profile, the diameter can't be the same surely? if that makes the circumference a few cm or mm shorter, then surely with the wheel spinning so many times, it will make a difference.

if the wheels are smaller then the speedo will be reading a higher figure than what your going i think. because the axel will spin the same but wheels wont be covering as much distance.

18's are pricey! i have lowered, so i think a lower profile will kill the ride tbh.

you said you want black wheels i like the 1.4sporting alloys why not do what RichC has done get them professionally resprayed black until you can afford 18s i am sure they would look as good as his plus side the c-orange would suit them better the X red just a suggestion, its a bit of a quandary really your in if you intend to change to other 17s,i am sure the ride would suffer less rubber and air between tyre and wheel.

I think the GP wears multispoke alloys well and think the Kei Force 10's would look great
