Re: Advice on how best to style my Grande Punto Active 1.2

I really like the Novitec kit and think it suits the GP down to the ground and the prices of the parts are quite good as far as bodykit prices go ! ! !

Cheers for the web page on the rear spoiler! Looks like you may have just saved me around £80 so VERY much appreciated!!!!

Right - Im just trying to calculate how much i will need to spend trying to get my exterior (1.2 Grande Punto Active 3 door) to look like the sports model.

So far it looks to me like - Sports Rear Spoiler - £65 (Thanx to the link from 'Shauncorwyn'.

Side Skirts - £90 (ebay - DVK & Associates)

Fiat Grande Punto Sports Alloy Wheels - £295 ( was on ebay going for this much????) - Anyone know anywhere better??

So thats looks a grand total of around £450 + ( The price for painting the spoiler and side skirts???) So...... i reckon around £500 with added little extras included.

What do you reckon on this price? Is there anyone who knows where to get any of these cheaper??

I havent got a 'pot to piss in' you see , as i bought the car cash outright ! So it does look like im going to have to buy these bit by bit! and i know iv been told that i should get the MultiJet Wheels first but i just cant afford it at the moment so i was thinking maybe the Spoiler first?? Anyway......

Thanx again to all for the help is very much appreciated!

Cheers Liam

Re: Advice on how best to style my Grande Punto Active 1.2

Getting there Now! Finding cheaper parts and accessories all the time! - Im just waiting on the cash!! (Got loads to pay out for you see!!)

Anyone know where i can get some Fog Lights so the front looks like the Sporting model?? I found something on ebay for £42 including delivery (Blinglights U.S.A). Also was wondering if i do manage to get some can you wire them to the the car just like it would be on the sports model and have it connecting to a button just like in the sports model???

THIS IS WHAT IM AIMING FOR ---->

AND THIS IS WHERE I AM AT THE MOMENT ---->

Mine looks a LONG way from this but eventually with some T.L.C and lots of hard cash i can get my 1.2 Active to look like the one above .

Any ideas if i do paint my brake callipers what colour would go best with 'New Orleans Blue'????

PLEASE KEEP the ideas on what to do to get my 1.2 Active to look like the SPORTS model please!!

Thanx for all the ideas and advice!

Cheers Liam Sperin

Re: Advice on how best to style my Grande Punto Active 1.2

i think that colour coded handles would look good along with the mirrors, also remember when buying the side skirts etc you also have the cost of them having to be painted as well which can be expensive! if you do decide to change the wheels i think that an aftermarket set would look best if you find the right set. and then maybe a slight lowering as the gp sporting has a 20mm drop compared to the active gp.

Re: Advice on how best to style my Grande Punto Active 1.2

I believe it will look better with colour coded handles and door mirrors, im just having difficulty in finding some? I've spoken to a few people who are stripping blue GP's but they do not have any!?

Does anyone know where best to look for these?

I think firstly im going to start with trying to get the colour coded handles and wing mirrors (As thats a good starting point). But if this takes a while im going to get the rear spoiler and then so on.

Im not to sure about the fog lights now? I know they are on the sports model but im rubbish with these things and i dont want to try and fit them and completely F**K up my car!! Also im abit picky and id want them to be fitted exactly like in the sports in the sense of the same button in the same place as in the sports model (im abit weird like that you see i like to have everything perfect and matching!!)

I had a look at what colours there was in the Hammerite and i think its between Blue or Red to paing my Callipers???? Any other suggestions to match the New Orleans Blue???

Anyway please!!!! Keep the advice coming on what i should do and where to get the parts cheaper??

Thanx again for the advice!!

Liam

P.S Does anyone know where i can get some good G.P floor mats as they are going for like £30 on ebay which i think is abit stupid just for abit of carpet!

Re: Advice on how best to style my Grande Punto Active 1.2

there is not the actual button on the active to wire the foglights up to, so you would have to get another switch somewhere to control the fog lights!

also i think that the calipers would look best in red unless the blue hammerite is a similar colour to the car!

Re: Advice on how best to style my Grande Punto Active 1.2

I like the idea of what your trying to do but its going to be hard on a budget. The key to it is getting it all done in the right order so you cna negotiate deals. You should definately get your existing mirrors and handles painted and not replace them.

I would suggest you work out exactly what is different first of all.

Looking at the side profile this is what i can come up with:

Alloys
Wirrors & Handles
Side skirts
Vinyl on the door pillars and by the little window (on the Sporting its glossy and on yours its matt)
Lowering

The lowering is the last port of call in my opinion as its less noticeable.

I would start with the side skirts, then get them fitted and painted at the same time along with the mirrors and handles so you can try and get a good deal. The vinyl you can do yourself and is really cheap but will take some time because of the bubbles, etc. Theres bound to be some pro's on here, lol. Venomco comes to mind.

The 1.9 Sporting alloys come up on eBay all the time and if you get lucky they are a bargain. Failing that put an ad in the wanted section here, someone is bound to be selling some.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Rich
