WooHoo, Finally a Sub and sound package

Hey again, a while ago I was planning on a sound system but didn't want to lose the Blue & Me functions of the car, however I've found the solution.

I've had a complete overhall of my sound system, and purchased an all Vibe setup, and it sounds mint.
What I've bought:
1 x Vibe Black Air Active CBR12" Evo Sub (changed my mind over the 10 when I arrived)
1 x Vibe Slick A2 Amp
2 x Vibe SE-K series front door speakers
2 x Vibe SE-K series tweeters
2 x Vibe Black Air 6's for the rear

But, with all this... kept my original head unit, the sub only plays bass and no vocal thanks to the low pas amp
settings and is wired from the back of the head unit (no preouts, so used an RCA converter) - May update the head unit in the future...

Pictures to follow with all the information of what the pictures are of, naturally.

Hopefully I'll find some time to write a guide, but if not I'm sure I'll be able to help (sort of) lol.

Tar,
Tom

Re: WooHoo, Finally a Sub and sound package

thats what i did too matey, seemed the easiest thing to do, nothing too showy for opportunist theives and all fits in flush and matches the rest of the dash.

are the rear speakers pigs to get to? and are they the same size as the fronts?

Re: WooHoo, Finally a Sub and sound package

Nope bigger than the fronts and don't plan on driving your car for an entire day if you want to change the rears, I swear it would be easier to get into Area 51 than it is to get the bloody speakers, it was a laugh mind, just make sure you remember which bolts go where.

Sounds amazing though.

Re: WooHoo, Finally a Sub and sound package

I got mine at Western Car Radio, (free, as were all the wiring kits actually lol, suppose they have to chuc something in when you spend so much - Awell worth it every time I turn the car on, I get a little Thud from the sub

P.s Maplins is very good for things like tis, they've got some nice subs aswell.

Re: WooHoo, Finally a Sub and sound package

This is slightly off topic but i would really like to upgrade my speakers in the near future as i have the optional sub and when i get to a certain volume it just crackles and sounds awful. Im assuming good speakers would help this even if i kept the original headunit, sub, etc.

Re: WooHoo, Finally a Sub and sound package

yes, but it also depends on how the signal etc is sent to them. the best way would be to upgrade the stereo with the standard speakers, rather than the other way around iirc... but then you might aswell upgrade the standard speakers too if doing that.

im not quite sure how the Fiat sub package works, but on mine i can control the bass on the back of the sub and then control it even more on the H/U which i have set usually at about -3 or -2 then this enables the speakers just to handle the treble rather than treble and bass and then the sub can deal with the bass. the speakers are pretty good tbh as standard, but obviously replacing them with better units can imo only be a good thing Richard.
