Lowering kit advice for 1.2 Active on 18s

Hi Everyone, Could someone please advise me on what would be the ideal drop for a gp sitting on 18s with 215/35/18 tyres? I have been looking at Eibach Sportline kits, which lower the front by 40-45mm and the rear by 30mm. Is this too much?

no probs. its still on for an independance day lowering. will be interesting to see what it looks like because on the box it says something like "approx. 50mm lowering" or something.

i wouldn't lower the front more than the back, the front is lower than the back as it is so it will look like its doing a nose dive lol, especially wen u got a passenger with you

Agree with this 100%, the front end is lower anyway. Eibach do a kit that lowers the front by 30mm and the back by 35mm i think. That sounds like the one for me when i decide to do it.

well we'll see. the box says 50mm but obviously websites say different. we're only talking 5-10mm difference between front and back anyway. id rather have the rear higher, im sure it handles better.

It goes without saying a car will handle far better when its lower at the front as you wont get as much lift. I just think it will look strange as its already noticable, if you add more to it we could be talking a difference of 20-30mm altogether. If nothing else make sure you steer clear of speed bumps and multi storey car parks .

i lowered a 1.4 sporting o5 plate 25mm all round it didnt sit any differently than a gps prior to this. its surprising what you think it needs lowering than actual.it handled amazingly after that.but dared not take more than two people in the car.the 17" alloys would sometimes skif the inner archs

Re: Lowering kit advice for 1.2 Active on 18s

I agree with you, i dont think it needs too much. Maybe a bit more on the base models if you dont plan on putting massive wheels on but if you do then 20-25mm is plenty imo. Need to look at getting mine done when ive got some cash. Id like to see a lowered 1.9 if there are any, failing that just any lowered pics would be good.

Thanks

Rich

Re: Lowering kit advice for 1.2 Active on 18s

i had planned to lower my car 25mm tops all round and try and find a really nice set of alloys didn't see any till i saw the 18" on the new bravo they have the same finish on them as the multijet gps and 215s tyres on them they are the ones for me if i decide to keep my car when i get it back.had the car over a year now so a bit of retail therapy is in order.get the car back this week.very apprehensive about it as i am SO PEDANTIC.......about my car as most of of us are on the GP forum
