| RAC 500W | Re: keeping my wheels clean Unfortunately it is going to be a case of keeping on top of them. If you are struggling to get them clean to start with then i would suggest Auto Glym alloy wheel cleaner, it is very strong stuff though so literally as soon as you have sprayed all 4 wheels you will need to go straight round and hose it off. Good results though. I was given a tip once by someone who is in valeting and that was to get the wheels nice and clean and then wipe a coat of vegetable oil on them. Apparently the oil holds to the wheel but doesnt stick if you like. So when they are dirty you just clean the oil off and that takes everything with it. Not tried it myself yet so dont no how true it is. Rich

Just started using wax polish on the alloys and they are even easier to clean

| Re: keeping my wheels clean dont use any acidic cleaner ie...wonderwheels or the likes or your wheels and bolts wont look new very long it will take the coating off both eventually.i had to replace all lock nuts and bolts they began to rust and if you have marks or scratched on your alloys it will eat into them.soap and elbow grease i am afraid.also try MAGUIRS TYRE GEL THE BEST ON THE MARKET I KNOW I HAVE USED THEM ALL it last for ages and looks amazing.

| Re: keeping my wheels clean I use Turtle Wax Brake Dust barrier on mine which really helps when you come to clean them. Just a quick wipe over with a soapy sponge and everything comes off. If you keep a soft cloth in your car and spend 30 seconds per wheel wiping the dust off everytime you drive they will stay clean and unmarked for a very long time.
