Starting out

A few points to note!

A relay must be fitted in the circuit.DO NOT try and wire fog lights directly to any other circuit,do not go near the body computer or try and utilise the original menu/rear fog multifunction switchbank as doing so will cause damage to your car and will invalidate your warranty! The purpose of this relay is to switch a large current (from your battery) safely to your fog lights. If you are unsure seek advice.

You will need.....

Black cable (14 gauge)
Spade terminals,4 insulated blue,3 insulated red (depending on terminal size of fitted switch) & 4 uninsulated red (the negative speaker terminal sized ones for fog light connection)2 ring terminals.
3 blade type fuse holders & 3 x 20 amp fuses.
Black loom tape & insulating tape.
Switch (I prefer the type pictured below)

Standard 4 (or 5 ) pin relay (pic below) ...

Re: Fitting front fog lights

I need to replace my front fog light (smashed it on a kerb ).
Your guide is very useful T14086 - but I'm not 100% sure if it's just as simple as unscrewing the old and plugging in the new. Can you clarify please?

Re: Fitting front fog lights

Nice one, thanks...I'll have a look at the weekend and give it a go
One more question (and I know I could go and have a look but it's dark!) - do I need a special screwdriver? If so, what sort is it please?

Cheers

Re: Fitting front fog lights

Can you please clarify. If your car is not already fitted with front Fog Lights. are there mounts on the bumper when you remove the little black covers? Just when I went to Fiat and asked them about it they said, no. Then tried to say your would need a new bumper, Yeah right! RIGHT?

Re: Fitting front fog lights

see page 2

Start off by removing the blanking plates where the lights fit into, these need a firm push 'in the way' as they are retained by strong retaining clips.

Re: Fitting front fog lights

The mounts are on the fog lamp brackets there is no separate inserts or mounting plates needed..

there is a Hole above the foglamp hole and 2 on the bottom of the bumper with a 3rd hole to adjust the beam angle with an 8mm nut runner.

you can just see the lower fitting bolts in this picture:
