How to Install / replace the Pollen/Cabin filter
Step by step guide to Replacing or fitting a new pollen filter

No really tools are needed apart from a small paintbrush and a Hoover with a crevice tool..<br />

The Replacement Interval of the filter varies obviously with the environment the car is used then again a quick hover regularly can eek a bit more life out of the filter as OEM replacement is

Re: How to Install / replace the Pollen/Cabin filter

Excellent guide - thank you

having just done mine - I found there was a screw in the bottom of the filter housing. Also when I removed the filter it had the airflow arrow facing towards the engine - contrary to the advice in this guide. I have had the car from new and the only time the filter has been changed is now - so the factory must have fitted it wrong.

Anyway thank again as the filter was badly clogged after just 2 years and 10k miles.

Re: How to Install / replace the Pollen/Cabin filter

I've tried to replace it myself with success. However, I'm not entirely sure if the filter is sitted into the chamber properly i.e. no folds/tears/crumpled. Because it was pretty hard to get it in.

Re: How to Install / replace the Pollen/Cabin filter

Hi. Have you all tried taking the filter out to check if it sitted correctly? Mine doesn't seem to sit "flatly" as per picture below. Worried that this means gaps of unfiltered area which sort of defeats the purpose of having this filter.

Re: How to Install / replace the Pollen/Cabin filter

Once I'd figured out it was on the inner side of the passenger footwell(took longer than it should have), I eventually got mine out in a similar state. Not quite as bad though.
After spending 10 minutes on my back doing automotive yoga trying to get the new one back in, I care not a fig if gaps are left. I'm just glad it EVENTUALLY managed to slip in, bent or not.

I also broke the clip putting the cover back on

Ta for the guide! Onto that other air filter now....

Re: How to Install / replace the Pollen/Cabin filter

As it was 2 years ago that I last did mine, thank goodness for this guide to refresh my mind on how it is done.

Thanks again
