Generic MP3 input on active HU

This is really easy to do and should only cost you a couple of quid!

Firstly you will need to make up a lead.

the cheapest way to do this is to use a cheap pair of 3.5mm jack plug headphones from the likes of Pound stretcher as long as they have a longish lead..Click here to read the entire article

Re: Generic MP3 input on active HU

I am having a problem knowing which wire on the left side is the Earth, there is one green and one red and green. Which is the earth?

The right side is easy as it's one red and one copper (earth).

Please help as I am in a jam.

Oops i burned the green cable and it revealed a copper wire so I though that it was the earth, that explains the echo on the left speaker I had a feeling that was it.

I did order a special plug as AMAZINGLENNIE above has mentioned, I contacted the seller and he was great will be shipping it ASAP. At least then I wont have to worry about it anymore plus the quality looks great on that cable.

I'll give it another go as the right speaker was perfect and if I redo it It should work for now till I get my cable.

Thanks frazer

I just realised I used a different cable, it was a 2 metre extension which has a thicker cable than the earphones.

This cable only has a red plus copper and white plus copper. Do you have any idea why the left side would echo as I used the red on the right and white on the left. Weird!

Re: Generic MP3 input on active HU

yes mine did this but after removing the hu again it seemed that one of the earth wires had come free form the crimp so i reattacted it and reconnected and it worked fine great quailty, no buzzing noise and no echo, but it might have somethink to do with certain wires touching but not entierly sure

These are not Fiat cables but they have the (proper adapter) and made my the seller apparently. I am not having any luck with my mod cable as one speaker is acting up

He is closed for holidays but if it's urgent you can e-mail him as he is still around. He sent me an PayPal invoice for it. It's up to you if you wanna wait an extra week or two till he lists them on ebay again.

Is this the cable you are having problems with? Or your own mod?

Cheers for the link!

I just got the cable yesterday and it's awesome. I have no static at all, even when charging!! I highly recommend this cable.

Very happy with the purchase would do again if I had to. If you can't get yours to work right purchase one of these of the link below you wont be disappointed.
